The Wellsgoode Social Network is the "dream child" of Richard A. Clark who wrote a fictional short story about a 14-year old boy who came of age on the deck of a 1770's cargo ship whose home port was in northern Massachusetts (read The Legend of Charles Bartholomew Wellsgoode). Upon completion of the short story, Clark was inspired to bring the ideals of young Charles from the pages of fiction to a real-life organization keeping with the main mission of helping others in a not-so-pedestrian effort, but as a way of life.

Many have a strong desiret to volunteer, but life gets in the way. Working for a living prohibits a great number of volunteers from fulfilling their ambitions to serve others. That brings us to Hats for Humanity...
